If D10/1 is Rainford for the 10 then that would be my preference….doubt I will be riding it unless its right at the end of the season though….
Sunday 26th November…..
Meet at the Crown pub 8.30am, for 3-4 hours hilly.
So, the ride for Sunday 29th will now be Saturday 28th, meet 8.30 at the Crown. Roughly 1.5 hours back to Horwich. Will head over to Belmont, Tockholes and loop back somehow. 15 – 17 mph
Just to confirm this Sunday’s ride:
Meet at the Beehive @ 9am, will probably do the fire ride (short version) route at an endurance kind of pace (15-17 mph).
At that sort of pace, it will be probably be around 2 hours back into Rivington. Café stop if people want or not.
Good update Dave 🙂July 23, 2017 at 5:10 pm in reply to: HCC 10 Mile Time Trial Championships 2017 – 6th September #3540
I’m there 🙂
Just to note, if its like last year, I think it will probably be a 6.30 first rider off due to light.
Sign on will therefore probably be from 5.30 but I can’t remember on that front.
Well, if you fancy it, of course!
Good ride Andy! Just thought I’d let the others who weren’t there know what they missed 😉
5 of us out in total, rotating round every few minutes with tempo on the front. A few burn ups for some of the climbs and Bods trying to stoke the fire by trying to incite border sign sprints from seemingly a few miles out ;-). Finished with a hard pace “racing” finish through Limbrick and up Long Lane to the Duck Pond. Coffee at the Bowling Green. I clocked 18.5mph avg with about 1400m of climbing.
Its been said before but anyone looking to race this season should be on this kind of ride. None of this getting up late, still eating your six weetabix before an easy solo Sunday spin, you guys know who you are 😉
Sounds good, see you there Andy.
I’m racing this weekend Tim, but it sounds like the kind of ride anyone racing this summer should be attending! Yes, you guys know who you are 😉
What sort of speed/time for the 33miles? And any figures for the elevation. If this is intended to be a hard effort throughout, will you be waiting for anyone who gets a puncture, or do they have to chase back on? 😉
The pace isn’t meant to go crazy till the last lap and like Martin says if you do get dropped, soft pedal and the group will be coming round again pretty soon. The first few laps should be as much about through and off smoothly.
At the club meeting it was suggested Tuesday 25th April would be a good date to start, following any Easter holiday commitments.
I can’t make it for 4 weeks at least though, because the Dave Astles Race Series starts on 25th April also.
I think I just tried this Craig for Horwich Festival of Racing, but seem to have lost it… I’ll try again 🙄😂
